HD-BLAST RESEARCH ESSAY · PERSONAL VIEW

Do physical units make a model’s prediction testable?

A model needs a justified connection between its numbers and a physical measurement. Units are one part of that explanation.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Units help explain what a number measures, but they do not establish that a model describes nature. A testable prediction also needs a physical quantity, a justified scale and a defined comparison with observations.

Short answer: Units help explain what a number measures, but they do not establish that a model describes nature. A testable prediction also needs a physical quantity, a justified scale and a defined comparison with observations.

First ask what the number represents

Suppose a drawing shows a winding path. A scale can tell you how long the pictured walk would be. It cannot show that the garden exists. This is an everyday analogy for the limits of putting physical units on a model’s output.

A reader can ask what the number stands for: the proposed source, a calculated response or an observable quantity. If quantities were rescaled for a calculation, the explanation needs to show how they connect to the physical situation.

What the HD-Blast checkpoint leaves open

HD-Blast is Ricardo Maldonado’s unproved cosmic-origin hypothesis. The September 5, 2026 v24 release reports that two chosen disturbances yield mathematically distinct response patterns in one specified model, under its assumptions and error bounds.

The record leaves physical energy and measurement-noise normalization, and an observable prediction, unresolved. Normalization here means defining the physical scales for the source and response, including the noise relevant to judging a measurement. The mathematical readouts are not telescope or gravitational-wave observations.

That conditional result does not establish a higher-dimensional blast or a cause of the Big Bang. It identifies a bounded calculation result and a remaining connection to physical measurements.

Three questions before accepting a prediction

  • What physical quantity would be measured?
  • What sets the predicted scale, and what uncertainty applies?
  • What measurement could disagree with this version of the idea?

Defined units belong in that explanation. They cannot substitute for the physical mechanism or the comparison with other possible explanations.
